1. Working Station
If you’re planning to open up your own nail salon, this is the first thing you should consider.
A nail tech’s working station usually consists of a table and two chairs – for you and your client. The client’s chair typically has a backrest so they can relax or even sleep while you’re working on their nails.
If space is an issue, you can also opt for a portable workstation. It consists of two chairs (one higher than the other) and an armrest or footrest.
2. Nail clippers
Even non-nail techs need nail clippers. This is one of the most basic nail care tools you’ll need.
Nail clippers actually come in different types and materials. Each is made for a specific purpose. But the most basic ones you’ll need are the standard type, flat type, and ring lock.
3. Nail files and buffers

Like nippers, cuticle pushers are also a staple in every professional nail kit. It’s not only used to push the cuticles back. It can also be used to remove traces of skin from the nail to allow the nail to grow beautifully.
9. Cuticle oil
Some clients, especially those with weak nails, may request cuticle oils to protect and nourish their nails. So it’s ideal to include cuticle oils in your arsenal too. Experts recommend looking for ones that contain jojoba, coconut, and argan oils as they are more nourishing for the nails.
